• Rosa Parks was born in Tuskegee. Alabama on February 4, 1913.
• She was the first child.
• Rosa was named after her maternal grandmother.

• Rosa was once arrested for not giving up her seat on the bus.
• During that time she had to go to different school because whites and color people couldn't go together.
• White schools were open for nine months each year and for black school it only held classes for five to six months.
• Rosa Parks had to take home all her books and belongings home and weren't able to leave anything behind because of the possibilities that the Ku Klux Klan might burn down the school overnight.
• At the age 11, Rosa graduated from the sixth and final grade of  the Spring Hill Church School.
• After that, her mother decided to send her to a private school in Montgomery.
• At the end of eigth grade, Rosa's school closed down.
